Stars tie John Brown in thriller

OCU moves to 5-3-1, 1-0-1 on season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University and John Brown (Ark.) tied 1-1 on Tuesday at Stars Field in the Stars' second Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer game of the season.
OCU move to 5-3-1, 1-0-1 in the SAC, while JBU now stands at 6-5-1, 2-0-1. The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, registered two saves in the game, the most crucial one came from a penalty kick by Aspen Robinson in the final minute that kept the game tied and forced overtime.
Both goals of the evening came off of penalty kicks. The first goal came from Ailee Thompson, a senior from Oklahoma City, after a foul was called in the box in the 48th minute. Jastin Redman, of the Golden Eagles, tied the game in the 69th minute after a Stars foul in the box.
Hannah Poor recorded four saves and moved to 6-4-1 as the Golden Eagles goalkeeper. Thomas' record in the net moved to 4-3-1 on the season. The shot totals were equal between both teams.
OCU is back in action 2 p.m. Saturday against Southwestern Christian in Bethany, Okla.
