Stars hand USAO first SAC loss 2-0

OCU wins regular-season finale

CHICKASHA, Okla. – The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team concluded the regular season with a win over University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 2-0 on Saturday at Drover Pitch.
Seniors Allie Glazner, of Edmond, Okla., and Carissa Turang, of Corona, Calif., paced the Stars with their third and fourth goal of the season, respectively. The Stars, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, moved to 11-4-1 on the season and 7-1-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Drovers fell to 10-5-2 and 8-1 in SAC play.
Glazner scored in the 24th minute off of a free kick in front of the box. All three of Glazner's goals this year have been from free kicks.
A scramble in the box in the 36th minute resulted in a goal by Turang and the assist credited to Sara Ricks, a freshman from Keller, Texas. The assist marks the third on the season for Ricks.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, tallied four saves en route to her seventh shutout of the year. Brandi Hutchinson recorded 10 saves and dropped to 6-5-2 in the net for USAO.
OCU held the shot advantage at 20-8.
The SAC tournament pairings will be released at the conclusion of the regular season. The Stars sit second in the SAC standings.
