Stars' Watson rakes in fourth consecutive SAC setter of week nod

Senior from Edmond, Okla., posted her first 60-assist performance

OKLAHOMA CITY – Heather Watson of Oklahoma City University reeled in her fourth straight Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball setter of the week award.
Watson, a senior from Edmond, Okla., averaged 12.38 assists, 1.25 digs and 0.34 kills a set for the week of Oct. 19-25. OCU's Hannah Mitcham and Watson own seven of the nine SAC setter of the week awards this year.
On Tuesday against Southwestern Christian, Watson tallied 38 assists, four digs, two aces and one kill. At Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Saturday, Watson recorded a career-high 61 assists as well as six digs, two kills and one ace. The last time a Stars setter registered 61 assists was Oct. 19, 2010 by Danielle Robison against John Brown (Ark.) at Abe Lemons Arena.  The OCU single-match record belongs to Erin Hirt with 69 assists on Oct. 25, 2007 vs. Southern Nazerene.
In 2015, Watson averages 6.58 assists, 1.06 digs, 0.36 kills and aces for the Stars (16-6, 11-1 in SAC play). The Stars, ranked 24th in the NAIA, play against Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Friday in Fort Worth Texas. See the match live here.
