Stars' Watson snatches SAC setter of week

Senior from Edmond, Okla., reels in third consecutive league honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Heather Watson from Oklahoma City University collected her third consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball setter of the week.
Watson, a senior from Edmond, Okla., amassed 11.22 assists, 2.33 digs and 0.56 kills a set for the week of Oct. 12-18. The Stars' Hannah Mitcham and Watson have combined to take six of the eight SAC setter of the week awards this year.
Against Mid-America Christian on Thursday, Watson posted a career-high 58 assists and four kills and a season-best 14 digs. Watson's 58 assists accounted for the highest assist total by a Star since Danielle Robison's 61 vs. John Brown (Ark.) on Oct. 19, 2010 at Abe Lemons Arena. Erin Hirt holds OCU's single-match record with 69 at Southern Nazarene on Oct. 25, 2007 in Bethany, Okla.
In 2015, Watson averages 6.08 assists, 1.08 digs and 0.35 aces for the Stars (15-5, 10-0 in SAC play).
