OCU pummels Bacone 8-0

Thompson, Worsham supply Stars with three goals each

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University routed Bacone 8-0 on Saturday at Love-Hatbox Field.
Seniors Allison Worsham, of Edmond, Okla., and Ailee Thompson, of Oklahoma City, registered hat tricks to lead the Stars. The Stars improved to 8-3-1, 4-0-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer. Bacone dropped to 1-6 and 0-5 in the SAC.
Thompson posted her second hat trick of the season, while Worsham provided OCU her third career hat trick. Thompson also added three assists to tie her season high.
Britani Soesbee, a senior from Edmond, Okla., assisted Worsham in the fifth minute for the first goal of the match. Thompson's first goal came unassisted in the 19th minute. 
Carissa Turang, a senior from Corona, Calif., scored her third goal of the year in the 30th minute off an assist by Thompson. In the same minute, Thompson scored off an assist by Sara Clarke.
Worsham notched her second goal of the match in the 53rd minute from a Thompson assist. Thompson completed her hat trick in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal. At the 67th minute, Thompson assisted in completing Worsham's hat trick.
Sara Ricks, a freshman from Keller, Texas, added a goal in the 82nd minute for her fourth on the season.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas collected one save and moved to 7-3-1 on the season. Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, tallied her third consecutive shutout and fourth in five outings. Ashley Smith registered 15 saves and fell to 0-2 as Bacone's goalkeeper. OCU held the shot advantage 28-1.
The Stars are back in action 5 p.m. Tuesday against St. Gregory's at Stars Field.
