OCU cruises past Mid-America Christian

Stars improve to 7-3-1, 3-0-1 in SAC.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team beat Mid-America Christian 2-0 on Tuesday at Stars Field.
Allison Worsham, a senior from Edmond, Okla., paced the Stars early with an unassisted goal in the fifth minute of the game. The goal marks the eighth on the season for Worsham. OCU improved to 7-3-1 and 3-0-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Evangels fell to 5-5-1 and 2-1-1 in the SAC.
Vanessa Mendoza, a junior from Garland, Texas, scored her third goal of the season in the 81st minute off an assist by Kayla McKenna, a sophomore from Las Vegas.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, collected five saves and improved to 6-3-1 on the season. Kaitlyn Whitten registered seven saves and dropped to 5-5-1 as the Evangels goalkeeper. OCU owned the shot advantage 16-8.
OCU returns to action 1 p.m. Saturday against Bacone in Muskogee, Okla.
