OCU duo notches SAC player of week nods

Faa'agi, Watson pick up weekly league awards

OKLAHOMA CITY – Fia Faa'agi and Heather Watson of Oklahoma City University pulled in weekly volleyball honors from the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Faa'agi has been chosen SAC attacker of the week, while Watson earned SAC setter of the week for Oct. 5-11.
Faa'agi, a freshman from Murrieta, Calif. averaged 4.00 kills and 2.00 digs per set over a five-set span in conference victories over St. Gregory's and Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas). She had 20 kills in 35 attacks against four errors for a .457 hitting percentage. Her best game statistically came in a three-set win over SAGU with season highs in kills (12) and digs (seven).
On the season, Faa'agi provides the Stars with 1.83 kills, 0.85 digs, 0.30 blocks, 0.15 aces and 2.14 points per set.
Watson, a senior from Edmond, Okla., became SAC setter of the week for the second consecutive week. Watson produced 11.83 assists, 1.50 digs and 1.00 aces per set in a six-set span in victories over St. Gregory's and Southwestern Assemblies of God. She had 36 assists and three digs in the win over SGU and 35 assists, six digs and four aces against SAGU.
This year, Watson accumulates 5.18 assists, 0.86 digs and 0.39 aces a set.
OCU, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, meets John Brown (Ark.) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena. Follow the match on live stats here.
