OCU drops a close one to SCU 4-3

Chapman, Djurdjevic and Taiar score for Stars

BETHANY, Okla. – The Oklahoma City University men's soccer team lost to Southwestern Christian 4-3 on Saturday at Cagle Family Field.
Aron Chapman, a senior from Sutton Coldfield, England, headed in a goal in the final minute to pull the Stars within one score, but OCU failed get a shot off in the final seconds. The Stars dropped to 1-8 on the season, 1-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Eagles improved to 10-3, 4-0 in the SAC.
Petar Djurdjevic, a freshman from Belgrade, Serbia, scored the first goal of the match from an assist by Juan Ocampo, a junior from Boca Raton, Fla., in the sixth minute.
Milan Milicevic tied the game off an assist by Matheus Magalhaes in the 24th minute. After the restart, Armando Gonzalez scored within a minute from an assist by Igor Stojanovic. Gonzalez added another goal in the 26th minute from an assist by Dennis Chad.
Alexandre Taiar, a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, netted the ball into the net off a free kick to make it a one-score game, cutting Southwestern Christian's lead to 3-2 in the 49th minute.
Stojanovic scored in the 52nd minute from an assist by James Kilvington to extend the Eagles' lead.
SCU held the shot advantage 19-10. Stars goalkeeper Vladimir Kalajdzic collected five saves, while Chris Muter recorded two saves for the Eagles.
The Stars are back in action 7 p.m. Tuesday against Mid-America Christian at Stars Field.
