Stars stomp Southwestern Assemblies of God 94-43

OCU improves to 6-0 in conference play

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University handily defeated Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 94-43 Thursday night at Abe Lemons Arena.
Rateska Brown, a senior from Alvin, S.C., tied a career-high with 31 points and added five rebounds and five assists for the Stars. Oklahoma City improved to 12-1, 6-0 Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball.
"It was a great moment," OCU coach Latricia Trammell said of Brown. "You knew it was going to come, and I knew she was going to do well tonight. Good players find a way to make it happen and she did."
OCU built a 14-1 lead as Brown scored 10 points. OCU hit 5 of its first 7 shots, while Southwestern Assemblies of God went 0-for-7. SAGU missed its first eight shots while committing four turnovers.
The Stars put together a 19-4 lead by going 7-for-10 from the field, while Southwestern Assemblies was 1-for-10 from the floor.
Stars' Marisha Wallace, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., recorded her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 7-8 from the floor.
"If we keep improving in the right direction we will finish strong," Trammell said.
OCU play St. Gregory's at 3 p.m. Saturday in Shawnee, Okla.
