OCU drops 84-70 decision to OBU

Walker tops 20 points for second time this season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University closed out the regular season with an 84-70 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Terrence Walker, a senior from Jonesboro, Ark., poured in 24 points for the Stars. OCU went to 16-11, 12-8 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball.
Walker sank 11 of 14 shots from the field and snatched four rebounds. R.J. McGhee, a senior from Baton Rouge, La., notched 15 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Stars.
Terence Bonhomme, a freshman from St. Martinville, La., scored 11 of OCU's 16 bench points.
Aaron Abram of Oklahoma Baptist struck for 41 points and nine rebounds. Abram hit 11 of 19 field-goal attempts and 16 of 19 free-throw tries.
The Stars held Oklahoma Baptist without a basket for the first 5:29 of the contest. Oklahoma Baptist misfired on its first seven shots from the floor as OCU led 7-1.
Walker gave the Stars an 11-3 advantage at the 13:30 mark of the first half. Kaleb Smith's steal and dunk put OCU in front 32-27 early in the second half.
Oklahoma Baptist erased OCU's lead as Abram's slam tied the game 35-35. Cale Jackson's free throw put Oklahoma Baptist ahead 40-39, and Oklahoma Baptist held the lead the final 15:08 of the game.
Abram's jumper in the lane put Oklahoma Baptist's lead into double digits at 56-46 with 9:22 left.
OCU will look forward to the SAC Tournament on March 5-8 at the Noble Complex on the Oklahoma Baptist campus in Shawnee, Okla. Pairings are yet to be announced.
