OCU reels in win over St. Gregory's

Macy leads Stars with 13 kills

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University knocked off St. Gregory's 25-15, 28-26, 25-15 on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena.
OCU's Kristen Macy, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., posted her 14th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 13 digs. The Stars moved to 19-10, 11-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
Taylor Chase, a junior from Yukon, Okla., piled up 13 assists, two kills, two aces and two blocks, while Hannah Mitcham, a junior from Fort Worth, Texas, notched 13 assists and three digs for Oklahoma City.
Kelley Shiels, a senior from Edmond, Okla., picked up 14 digs, and Aspen Healy, a senior from Oklahoma City, produced six kills and five blocks for the Stars.
In the first set, Macy nailed a pair of kills as OCU used a 6-0 run to get to set point. In the second set, the Stars reeled off five points in a row to lead 14-7 as Healy pocketed a kill and a solo block and teamed with Macy on another block.
St. Gregory's rallied to tie the set 22-22 and have set point at 25-24. Macy socked a kill to tie the set 25-25, then had another to put OCU up 27-26. Chazmin Franklin gave the Stars the set by hammering a kill.
The Stars close out the regular season with senior day 2 p.m. Saturday against Texas Wesleyan at Abe Lemons Arena.
