Stars drop second straight

OCU shoots 17-for-19 from free-throw line

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell 83-68 to Langston on Tuesday night at Abe Lemons Arena.
R.J. McGhee, a senior from Baton Rouge, La., anchored the Stars with 22 points. OCU fell to 2-2 in men's basketball.
The Stars led 8-1 just inside the first two minutes for their largest lead of the game. Langston went on an 11-4 run to tie the game at 12 with 14:21 seconds left in the first half.
Langston opened up a 14-point lead, but OCU closed the gap to 38-30 heading into the locker room.
"We have a target on our back," OCU coach Dionne Phelps said. "That team came in intent on doing what they did. We have to find our identity on defense. It's important that we do so because in two weeks we're in conference play. "
Tharone Chilton, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., made a layup at 16:34 to close the Langston lead to four.
Langston responded to extend the lead in the second half to 19 with 7:52 left.
The Stars shot 17-for-19 from the free-throw line.
Chilton added 17 points, five rebounds and four steals. Dema Sane led OCU in rebounds with seven while producing eight points.
The Stars travel to Central Oklahoma 2 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Field House.
