OCU tops Graceland 8-0, 7-3

The Stars picked up their 18th consecutive win and improved to 24-4 on the season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University swept a doubleheader against Graceland (Iowa) 8-1, 7-3 Sunday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
The Stars, ranked No. 4 in NAIA softball, outhit Graceland 21-7 to pick up their 18th consecutive win and improve to 24-4 on the season.
After conceding a run in the top of the first inning, LeeAnn Lopez drove in Kyndra Holasek to tie the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the inning.
Emily Krienke scored on a Holasek sacrifice fly to give OCU a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third.
Krienke and Shelbi Legg each recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to stretch the OCU lead to 4-1.
Holasek doubled and drove in a run in the bottom of the fifth and homered in the bottom of the sixth to give OCU an 8-1 advantage.
Elizabeth Oberst tossed a three-up-three-down top of the seventh to give the Stars the 8-1 victory. Oberst allowed one run on one hit with six strikeouts and picked up the win to improve to 15-2 on the season.
Holasek went 3-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Stars at the dish.
Magean De La Torre singled and plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Jamie Rateliff followed with a double to score De La Torre from first base and make the score 3-0 in favor of OCU.
Krienke doubled down the right field line and drove in a run in the bottom of the fourth to stretch the Stars' lead to 4-1.
In the bottom of the fifth De La Torre blasted a two-run homer to make the score 6-1. Later in the inning, Legg singled and plated a run to give OCU a 7-1 advantage.
Oberst struck out the side in the top of the seventh to give the Stars the 7-3 victory.
Rateliff allowed three runs on six hits in six inning of work to earn the win and move to 6-0 on the season.
De La Torre went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to pace OCU at the plate.
The Stars will return to action in a doubleheader against Incarnate Word (Texas) at 4 p.m. Tuesday in San Antonio.
