Stars to host Mid-America Christian in SAC Tournament

Regular-season SAC champ OCU holds top seed in conference tournament

OCU is the defending Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament champion.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University earned the top seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and will host Mid-America Christian in the first round at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 18 in NAIA women's soccer, clinched their fourth straight SAC regular-season title with a 5-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Monday to improve to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in SAC play.
OCU is led by senior Meghan McMahon. The forward from Oklahoma City is first on the team with 39 points, 15 goals and nine assists this season. McMahon is OCU's all-time leader in points (183) and goals (75).
The OCU defense has notched eight shutouts this season including five straight to start conference play. The Stars have only allowed four goals in SAC contests and have not allowed a second-half goal since Sept. 1.
Mid-America Christian went 10-7 overall and 4-6 in SAC play during the regular season and received the No. 8 seed. The Lady Evangels are led by Chelsea Swisher who scored a SAC-leading 17 goals this season. The Stars topped Mid-America Christian 2-1 on Oct. 25 at Stars Field.
