Stars pummel Dakota Wesleyan 4-0

OCU got a pair of goals from Kieran McLachlan to earn its first win of the season

Kieran McLachlan scored a pair of goals to help give the Stars their first win of the season.
Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University flew past Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) 4-0 Sunday at Stars Field.
The Stars got a pair of first-half goals from sophomore Kieran McLachlan, of Airdrie, Scotland, and easily defeated the Tigers to move to 1-0-2 on the season.
In the 32nd minute, junior Adam Black took a free kick and found McLachlan cutting across the front of the goal. The sophomore midfielder took the pass and scored to give OCU a 1-0 advantage.
Two minutes later McLachlan picked a ball that deflected off a defender and beat Dakota Wesleyan goalkeeper Emmanuel Paravalos to stretch the Stars' lead to 2-0.
Senior Nathan Doll took a free kick in the 60th minute and picked out junior Trevor Harmon who headed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Stars.
The Stars put the game out of reach in the 66th minute when senior Ryan Hunter found Black who beat Paravalos to score his second goal of the season and give OCU the 4-0 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Joe Shulberg made three saves in 90 minutes of action and picked up his second shutout of the season.
The Stars will return to action against Union (Tenn.) in the John Brown Classic at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
