Irwin of Stars picks up SAC hitter of week

Sophomore from Arlington, Texas snags first career SAC player of week award

Meghan Irwin led the Stars to three wins in the Avila Classic on Friday and Saturday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Meghan Irwin of Oklahoma City University garnered Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball hitter of the week honors for Sept. 3-9.
Irwin, a sophomore outside hitter from Arlington, Texas, averaged 4.0 kills and 0.67 blocks a set while posting a .342 attack percentage in OCU's 3-3 week.
She totaled 84 kills, 15 digs and 14 blocks this week for OCU. Irwin posted 18 kills against Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Friday in the Avila Classic at Kansas City, Mo.
The Stars (6-8) open Sooner Athletic Conference play against St. Gregory's at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla.
