Robison collects 30 digs in win over McPherson

Junior libero goes for 21 against Evangel

Danielle Robison posted the 10th 30-dig performance in OCU volleyball history.

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Danielle Robison joined the 30-dig club as Oklahoma City University split its two volleyball matches Saturday in the College of the Ozarks Tournament at the Keeter Gymnasium.
Robison, a junior from Dallas, racked up 32 digs as the Stars defeated McPherson (Kan.) 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-23. OCU (3-5) also fell to Evangel (Mo.) 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.
Against McPherson, Robison notched the 10th 30-dig performance by a Star while also serving up three aces. Victoria Cross was the last OCU player to reach 30 digs when she picked up 30 digs against Sterling (Kan.) on Sept. 10, 2011. Meghann Turner holds the single-match program record with 34 at Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Sept. 23, 2006.
Torrie Flynn and Rachel Gabel each added double-doubles for OCU. Flynn, a junior from Edmond, Okla., posted 13 kills, 11 digs and two blocks, and Gabel, a freshman from Richardson, Texas, accumulated 11 kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Tori Leisure chipped in 10 kills, three digs and two blocks, and Aspen Healy socked eight kills to go with two blocks.
Hannah Mitcham collected 42 assists and 14 digs for the Stars. Seven OCU performers reached double digits in digs as Heather Watson had 14, Anna Gentry scooped 13 and Maggie Vickers contributed 11.
Against Evangel, Robison produced 21 digs, and Mitcham amassed 18 assists and 12 digs. Flynn topped OCU with seven kills, while Gabel had six kills.
Meghan Irwin added five kills. Vickers and Watson each had nine digs.
OCU takes on East Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Ada, Okla.
