OCU inks five wrestling recruits

Emily Ducote, Ricarda Garcia, Rachael Lex, Sanoe Spencer, and Rachel Young will join the Stars in 2012-13

OKLAHOMA CITY –Oklahoma City University inked Emily Ducote, Ricarda Garcia, Rachael Lex, Sanoe Spencer, and Rachel Young to wrestle in the 2012-13 season.
OCU won its fourth consecutive WCWA national championship in 2011-12 and boasted 15 all-Americans and six individual national champions.
Ducote of Los Gatos, Calif., finished first in the Central Coast Section tournament in '11 and '12 at Los Gatos High School. Ducote placed second at the California state tournament in '12 and fifth in '11.
Garcia, of Mount Vernon, Wash., comes to OCU by way of Yakima Valley Community College where she was all-American at 121 pounds in 2010-11. Garcia posted a record of 61-21 in three seasons at Mount Vernon High School and finished as state runner-up in her junior and senior seasons.
Lex, of Keller, Texas, went 57-22 in two seasons at Keller Central High School. Lex garnered all-state, all-city, all-conference, all-district and all-region honors. Lex plans to major in biology at OCU.
Spencer, of Pearl City, Hawaii, won two state titles at Pearl City High School.  Spencer went 15-1 in her senior season and also nabbed two state titles in judo.
Young, of Whitehall, Ohio, posted 46 career wins at Whitehall-Yearling High School. Young was a two-time district qualifier and a two-time scholar-athlete. Young also notched two runner-up finishes at USGWA nationals.
