Stars take two from Webber International

OCU won 3-1 and 4-0 in a doubleheader in Titusville, Fla.

A.J. Woodward tossed 5.1 scorless innings in game two to move to 5-1 on the season.
TITUSVILLE, Fla.  – Oklahoma City University swept a doubleheader from Webber International (Fla.), 3-1 and 4-0 Wednesday.
The sweep moves the Stars, ranked No. 4 in NAIA softball, to 26-2 on the season.
Junior Tori Joyner went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead OCU at the plate in the first game. Sophomore Danielle Fox finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and Magean De La Torre went 1-fo-1 and was hit by a pitch twice to help the Stars to the 3-1 victory.
Senior Lily LaVelle tossed seven innings and allowed one run on two hits to move to 18-1 on the season.
Joyner and LaVelle each went 2-for-4 and scored a run in game No. two. Junior LeeAnn Lopez finished 1-for-1 with a sacrifice and an RBI to help give OCU the 4-0 victory.
Senior A.J. Woodward tossed 5.1 innings to pick up the win and move to 5-1 on the season. LaVelle pitched 1.2 innings in relief.
OCU will return to action against Indiana Tech at noon and Midland (Neb.) at 2 p.m. Thursday in Clermont, Fla.
