ABOUT THE STARS: The Stars flattened St. Gregory's 85-43 on Wednesday at W.P. Wood Field House in Shawnee, Okla. With the win, OCU improved to 26-1 overall and 20-1 in SAC play.
Point guard Taylor Booze led the charge with a season-high 20 points. The senior from Duncanville, Texas, hit 3-of-4 from 3-point range and passed out six assists on the night. Booze leads the team with 3.9 assists and 2.41 steals per game this season.
Senior Dietra Caldwell added 17 points in the contest. The 5-foot-8 guard shoots 43 percent from the field and is the team's leading scorer at 12.5 points per game. Caldwell is ranked third in NAIA Division I in assist-to-turnover ratio, passing out 2.8 assists to every turnover. Nicollette Smith, of Tulsa, Okla., chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds off the bench against St. Gregory's. The senior center averages 10.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
OCU ranks first in NAIA Division I in scoring margin, outscoring opponents by 33.2 points per game and ranks in the top-10 in 16 statistical categories. To see how the Stars stack up statistically with the rest of the NAIA, click here.
The Stars currently sit in the top spot in the latest NAIA Division I poll. OCU has held the No. 1 ranking seven times this season and has appeared in every top-25 poll since the 1999-2000 season. OCU currently shares first place in the SAC standings with Lubbock Christian (Texas). The Stars, winners of 12 SAC regular-season titles and eight SAC Tournament crowns, were picked to win the conference in the preseason.
OCU leads the all-time series with Oklahoma Baptist 42-22. In their last meeting the Stars smashed the Lady Bison 102-49 on Feb. 2 at the Noble Complex in Shawnee, Okla.

ABOUT THE LADY BISON: Oklahoma Baptist picked up a 71-57 win over Mid-America Christian Thursday at the Noble Complex. The win moved the Lady Bison to 15-14 overall and 11-10 in SAC play.
Lillian Prince led Oklahoma Baptist with 17 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Prince leads the team in points, rebounds and steals per game.
Bridget Reynolds added 12 points and nine rebounds against Mid-America Christian. Reynolds averages 11.5 points per game and leads the team in free-throw percentage at 81 percent from the line.
Oklahoma Baptist ranks sixth in the nation in total 3-point field goals made with 217. The Lady Bison currently sit in fifth place in the SAC standings and were picked to finish seventh in the preseason.

POSTSEASON IMPLICATIONS: With a win, the Stars will clinch the No. 1 seed in the SAC Tournament based on the record vs. NAIA Division I opponents tiebreaker with Lubbock Christian. OCU is 26-1 overall and Lubbock Christian is 23-4. The SAC Tournament is March 1-3 in Siloam Springs, Ark.
With an OCU win and a Lubbock Christian loss, the Stars would clinch the SAC regular-season title outright.
If both teams win or lose, the Stars and Lady Chaps would share the SAC regular-season title.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson has posted a stellar 203-31 record in his seventh season at OCU and a 505-150 record overall in his 22nd season as a head coach. Edmisson, a two-time SAC coach of the year, has led the Stars to four SAC regular-season championships and four SAC Tournament titles. Edmisson coached the only player drafted into the WNBA from OCU, Mariam Sy, as well as six other Stars who have turned professional. He won 192 games at Hutchinson (Kan.) and 110 as a high-school coach in Kansas.
John McCullough owns a 272-129 record in his 12th season as Oklahoma Baptist head coach. McCullough led the Lady Bison to 10 consecutive national-tournament appearances from 2001-10.
