OCU rocks Lubbock Christian 4-2

Adam Black netted three goals to help the Stars improve to 7-4-3

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University rocked Lubbock Christian (Texas) 4-2 Thursday at Stars Field.
The Stars got a hat trick from junior Adam Black, of Liverpool, England, to improve to 7-4-3 on the season and 2-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The Stars got on the board in the 7th minute when junior Trevor Harmon, of Allen, Texas, took a corner kick. Harmon's ball found Black who headed the ball past Lubbock Christian goalkeeper Hunter Ganze to make the score 1-0.
In the 35th minute, senior Taylor Craig, of Tomball, Texas, sent a cross into the box and found Black. Black took the pass and netted his 11th goal of the season to give the Stars a 2-0 advantage.
Sophomore Kieran McLachlan, of Airdrire, Scotland, sent a pass into the box and found senior Ryan Hunter in the 27th minute. The midfielder from Tulsa, Okla., headed the ball past Ganze and gave OCU a 3-0 lead.
The Chaparrals answered with back-to-back goals from David Hagen and Tony Stock and cut the Stars' lead to 3-2.
OCU took a 4-2 lead in the 72nd minute when Black netted his third goal of the match. After a Lubbock Christian defender deflected an OCU pass high in the air, the junior forward headed the ball past Lubbock Christian goalkeeper Erik Mozzo and into the net to give OCU the 4-2 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard, of Oklahoma City, made a pair of saves in 90 minutes of work.
The Stars will return to action in their final home match of the regular season against Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field.
