Stars suffer five-set loss to SW Assemblies

Flynn spearheads OCU with 17 kills, six blocks

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma City University's rally fell short in a five-set loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday night at the Sheaffer Center.
The Stars (13-17) fell 29-27, 25-21, 17-25, 20-25, 15-12 to Southwestern Assemblies on its homecoming. Torrie Flynn, a junior from Edmond, Okla., led OCU with 17 kills and six blocks.
Hannah Mitcham, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, posted 49 assists, nine kills and seven digs, while Meghan Irwin, a sophomore from Arlington, Texas, added 13 kills and three blocks for the Stars.
OCU's Rachel Gabel, a freshman from Richardson, Texas, picked up nine kills, 12 digs and four blocks, and Tori Leisure, a freshman from Haslet, Texas, contributed nine kills and four blocks. Danielle Robison, a junior from Dallas, totaled 15 digs and four aces, while Aspen Healy, a junior from Oklahoma City, produced eight kills and five blocks.
OCU continues Sooner Athletic Conference play with a 7 p.m. match Tuesday vs. St. Gregory's at Abe Lemons Arena.
