Box Score BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University men's soccer snagged its first win of the season Wednesday defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan, ranked 25th in the NAIA, 2-1.
OCU fell behind early, but stingy defense the rest of the match and goals from sophomores Drew Hall and Trevor Harmon helped the Stars pull out the victory.
The Stars conceded a goal in the second minute of the game when Lucas Almeida beat sophomore goalkeeper Jalen Howard on a cross from Lucas Cordeiro to make the score 1-0.
The Stars drew even in the 35th minute when senior Steven Short found Hall for a header off an OCU corner kick to tie the score at 1-1.
Oklahoma City took the lead in the 56th minute when Harmon found the back of the net from deep after taking a pass from junior Nathan Doll to make the score 2-1.
After conceding the second-minute goal, the Stars did not allow any shots on goal.
OCU outshot Oklahoma Wesleyan 19-6 and recorded eight shots on goal.
The Stars return to action against Houston-Victoria (Texas) at 3 p.m. Sunday in their home opener at Stars Field.
