WICHITA, Kan. – Oklahoma City University stood in sixth place through 36 holes of the Wichita State Shocker Invitational on Monday at the Wichita Country Club.
The Stars, ranked second in NAIA men's golf by Golf World, carded a 295-287–582. Host Wichita State led with a 270-288–558 on the par-71, 6,447-yard setup.
James Marchesani, a sophomore from Victoria, Rosebud, Australia, led OCU with a 71-71–142 to tie for 10th place. Marchesani sank nine birdies. Michael Palmer, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, shot 75-71–146. Palmer knocked in 10 birdies.
Elliot Groves, a senior from Winchester, Hampshire, England, posted a 77-73–150, while Sondre Ronold, a junior from Stavanger, Norway, contributed a 72-79–151. Clark Collier, a senior from Edmond, Okla., recorded a 79-72–151.
Temperatures reached the mid-90s with a gusty breeze.
The final round of the tournament begins 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
