FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma City University turned in a seventh-place finish in the Texas Intercollegiate on Monday at Hawks Creek Golf Club.
Clark Collier, a junior from Edmond, Okla., led the defending NAIA men's golf champion Stars with a 70-77–147, which put him in a tie for 13th individually.
Top-ranked OCU shot a 291-309–600 to place behind third-ranked Oklahoma Christian, 10th-ranked Southern Nazarene and Abilene Christian (Texas), ranked sixth in NCAA Division II. Oklahoma Christian posted a 281-282–563 to capture the tournament title.
Cameron Meyers chipped in a 72-78–150, while James Marchesani added a 74-78–152 for the Stars. Michael Palmer carded 76-76–152, and Elliot Groves had a 75-78–153.
Temperatures reached 64 degrees on the par-72, 6,847-yard course.
OCU will play in the California Baptist Spring Break Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Primm, Nev.
