OCU vs. Southwestern Adventist men's basketball preview

Shane Rogers posted six rebounds, five steals and three assists against Dallas Baptist.

THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University looks for its first win of the season against Southwestern Adventist (Texas).
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, while OCU students, faculty and staff are allowed into all regular-season OCU athletic events for free with their ID.
 
ABOUT THE STARS: The Stars finished 2010-11 with a record of 17-14. OCU lost its season opener to Dallas Baptist 57-56 on Oct. 29 at Abe Lemons Arena.
Senior C.J. Busby led the Stars with 14 points and a 50 shooting percentage from 3-point distance against DBU in 21 minutes of action. Junior Charlton Jones passed out six assists, and senior Shane Rogers pulled down six rebounds.
The Stars shot 36.7 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from behind the 3-point line.
 
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS: The Knights enter the game 0-2. Southwestern Adventist lost to Hill (Texas) 101-45 on Nov. 1 and Eastfield (Texas) 96-65 on Nov. 2.
 
ABOUT THE COACHES: Dionne Phelps enters his first season as a head coach with OCU. Phelps took over the Stars after serving as assistant coach at Oklahoma. Phelps has been a part of four conference title teams as well as three NCAA Tournament teams during his 22-year coaching career. Phelps played for Texas Lutheran, eventually joining the Bulldogs Athletic Hall of Fame.
SWAU is coached by Francis Nicholas, assisted by Landon Banks, Daniel Leach, Merari Martinez, Philippe Michel and Kelby Rowe.
