OCU falls to John Brown in five sets

Robison dishes a season-high 55 assists

Raissa Santos notched her 24th double-double of the year for the Stars on Saturday.
Box Score SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – John Brown (Ark.) nipped Oklahoma City University 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 16-14 on Saturday at Bill George Arena.
Courtney Marshall provided the winning points with a kill then by teaming with Allie Rankin on a block. The Stars fell to 12-22, 5-7 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
Danielle Robison, a sophomore from Dallas, amassed a season-high 55 assists to go with 11 digs for OCU.
Raissa Santos, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, provided OCU with 18 kills and 10 digs. Torrie Flynn, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., knocked down 16 kills for the Stars.
Meghan Irwin, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, added 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces, while Alex Benbrook, a senior from Enid, Okla., supplied the Stars with 10 kills and three blocks.
In the fifth and deciding set, John Brown built a 7-2 lead as Rankin had back-to-back blocks. Erin Didier combined with Rankin on the second block.
Irwin, Santos and Flynn hammered down kills to rally OCU into a 9-9 tie. Benbrook nailed a kill to put OCU ahead 13-12.
Kailey Bain had an ace to give John Brown a 14-13 edge. Benbrook rejected an attack to tie the set before John Brown answered with the winning points.
OCU meets Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 in Plainview, Texas.
