OCU goes 0-2 in Olivet Nazarene Classic

Santos adds two double-doubles to her credit

Raissa Santos had 21 kills and 23 digs on the day Friday.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Oklahoma City University fell twice in the Olivet Nazarene Classic on Friday by a 30-28, 25-17, 28-26 count to Saint Xavier (Ill.) and 25-14, 25-16, 26-24 to Davenport (Mich.).
Raissa Santos led the way with her 20th and 21st double-doubles of the year. The Stars went to 10-18.
“We fought hard,” OCU coach Nikki Dieball said. “We faced deficits, but we came back.”
Santos, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, notched 11 kills and 10 digs against Saint Xavier. Victoria Cross, a senior from Oklahoma City, racked up 29 digs, while Danielle Robison, a sophomore from Dallas, accrued 33 assists for OCU.
Meghan Irwin hammered eight kills, while Torrie Flynn and Taylor Rowton pounded down seven kills each. Flynn had four blocks, and Rowton had three blocks. Anna Gentry scooped up 10 digs.
Against Davenport, Santos recorded 10 kills and 13 digs. Robison handed out 24 assists, and Cross picked up 15 digs.
Alex Benbrook added seven kills and four blocks, and Irwin chipped in five kills and nine digs. Rowton contributed three blocks.
The Stars meet Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) at 10 a.m., then Grand View (Iowa) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
