LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma City University trailed Nebraska by three shots through two rounds of the Kansas Invitational on Monday at Alvamar Golf Course.
The defending NAIA men's golf champion Stars fired a 292-289–581 on the par-72, 7,092-yard course. Clark Collier led top-ranked OCU with a 71-71–142.
Collier, a junior from Edmond, Okla., stood two strokes off the individual pace set by Scott Willman of Nebraska.
Sondre Ronold tied for fifth place with a 69-74–143 for the Stars. Elliot Groves had a 76-71–147, and Michael Palmer shot a 76-73–149 for OCU.
OCU's Cameron Meyers also had a 76-77–153. Taylor Artman, playing as an individual, carded a 77-78–155.
Temperatures reached 89 degrees, and winds were light at 9 mph.
The final round of the Kansas Invitational will begin 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
