DALLAS – Midwestern State (Texas) edged Oklahoma City University on the second hole of a playoff in the Dallas Baptist Invitational on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Dallas.
OCU, top-ranked in NAIA men's golf, shot 289-289-300–878, while Midwestern State finished at 298-286-294–878.
Clark Collier, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., turned in a 70-74-75–219 to tie for 12th place individually for the Stars. Sondre Ronold, a freshman from Stavanger, Norway, recorded a 73-71-77–221, good for a tie for 19th.
Ben Bench shot a 72-75-75–222, and Michael Palmer chipped in a 75-75-73–223. Taylor Artman had a 74-69-80–223.
The high temperature was 79 degrees, and there was a south wind up to 21 mph.
The Stars compete next in the Wichita State Shocker Classic at Wichita Country Club in Wichita, Kan.
