DALLAS – Oklahoma City University were knotted with Dallas Baptist through two rounds of the Dallas Baptist Invitational on Monday at the Golf Club of Dallas.
The Stars, ranked No. 1 in NAIA men's golf, fired a 289-289–578 on the Perry Maxwell-designed course. Taylor Artman, a junior from Norman, Okla., shot OCU's low score with a 74-69–143.
Artman tied for sixth through 36 holes. Andrew Green of Central Oklahoma had the individual lead with a 73-65–138.
OCU's Clark Collier and Sondre Ronold were a stroke behind Artman. Collier, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., carded a 70-74–144 and held the first-round lead. Ronold, a freshman from Stavanger, Norway, registered a 73-71–144.
Ben Bench contributed a 72-75–147, while Michael Palmer added a 75-75–150 for the Stars.
Dallas Baptist, ranked 15th in NCAA Division II, had a 290-288–578, third-place Cameron had a 302-281–583 and fourth-place Midwestern State (Texas) compiled a 298-286–584. Oklahoma Christian, ranked second in the NAIA, shot 298-287–585 to be tied for fifth.
The final round of the Dallas Baptist Invitational happens Tuesday.
