THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University meets in-state rival Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 students and free to OCU students, faculty and staff with their ID.
ABOUT THE STARS: The Stars opened the regular season with a 101-59 victory over Ozark Christian (Mo.) on homecoming Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. OCU, who had five double-digit scorers, surpassed 100 points for the third time under Kevin Morrissey.
Dee Proby, a 6-foot-10 senior from Round Rock, Texas, recorded 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists. He sank 7 of his 8 shots from the field. Proby transferred from West Virginia and averaged 11.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists for Angelina as a sophomore.
Johnny Stephene, a 6-1 junior from Boynton Beach, Fla., compiled 14 points, three assists and four steals. Stephene posted 3.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists last season for Liberty. Shane Rogers, a 6-4 junior from Flower Mound, Texas, contributed 13 points, four assists and two steals. Rogers hit all six of his shots from the floor. Rogers arrived at OCU from Collin County (Texas), where he averaged 7.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season.
The Stars received votes in the preseason national rankings. OCU has been picked to finish fifth in the SAC according to league coaches. OCU has captured the SAC regular-season crown 13 times.
Southeastern holds a 16-6 advantage in the all-time series. OCU edged Southeastern 72-69 in an exhibition on Nov. 9, 2009 in Durant, Okla.
ABOUT THE SAVAGE STORM: Southeastern will see its first action of the 2010-11 season against the Stars. The Savage Storm, who went 10-17 last season, will make their regular-season debut Nov. 18 against USAO in Durant, Okla.
Darrell Hicks, a 6-4 senior, turned in 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.50 steals a game last season. Chibuzo Elonu, a 6-7 senior, added 8.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest in 2009-10.
Southeastern has been predicted to finish fifth in the North Division of the Lone Star Conference in the preseason.
ABOUT THE COACHES: Kevin Morrissey has posted a 33-26 record through two seasons at OCU. Morrissey spent the previous four seasons as St. Gregory's coach. He also has been an assistant at Missouri State and Texas-Pan American. Morrissey played his college ball at Oklahoma Baptist and Oral Roberts and high school at Bishop McGuinness in Oklahoma City.
Tony Robinson has compiled a 252-240 record in 18 years with Southeastern. Robinson, a Southeastern alum, is an Oklahoma Boys Coaches Association hall of famer.
