Blerta Rashica contributed two goals and an assist in Saturday's match.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University Stars women's soccer team improved its season record to 13-2 (7-0 conference) on a blustery fall day Saturday at Stars Field.

OCU posted a 6-0 victory over Wayland Baptist (Texas) in the match, with four women producing goals in the day. Malin Andersson, a senior from Huskvarna, Sweden, and Blerta Rashica, a freshman from Orebro, Sweden, both netted two goals each in the victory.

Lauren Kolker, a freshman from Choctaw, Okla., started the game with an OCU score in the third minute of play. Kolker drove in for her first goal of the season off a crossing pass from Andersson.

Andersson got the Stars' second goal of the match in the 18th minute of play. Alex Miley, a senior from Edmond, Okla., passed through traffic to a streaking Andersson to garner the assist on the goal.

Just after halftime, Josefine Holmgren, a senior from Huskvarna, Sweden, gave the Stars a 3-0 lead. Holmgren headed in an Andersson corner kick in the 47th minute.

Rashica extended the OCU lead in the 73rd minute, with the assist going to Sheridan Horner, a sophomore from Choctaw, Okla.
In the 75th minute, Rashica assisted Andersson on her second goal of the match as the score swelled to 5-0.

The sixth and final goal was again assisted by Miley, who distributed a touch pass at midfield to Rashica, who powered down the field for the empty net score.

OCU outshot the Pioneers 26-2, and controlled the pace of the match from the first whistle. The Stars offense has been turning in terrific performances all season, outscoring their opponents by a mark of 47-10 with just three regular-season games remaining.

The Stars now travel to Lubbock Christian (Texas) for a 1 p.m. Tuesday match.
