CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University's men's basketball team was defeated by top-ranked Rogers State 92-67 on Saturday at the Claremore Expo Center.
The Stars moved to 15-13, 8-12 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Vinicius Telo, a sophomore from Ribeirao Preto, Brazil, led the Stars offense with 17 points.
Telo knocked down 3 of 4 from behind the 3-point line and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Stars.
Jamel White, a junior from Brooklyn, N.Y., added 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. DaVell Jackson, a junior from Las Vegas, chipped in 12 points, and Marlon Jones sank 10, rounding out the Stars' double-digit scorers. Jones, a senior from Greenville, N.C., posted a team-high nine rebounds in the contest.
The OCU defense grabbed 36 rebounds and forced 12 turnovers for Rogers State.
OCU will face Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Abe Lemons Arena.
