SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University's men's basketball team fell to fourth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at the Noble Complex.
The Stars are now 14-11, 7-10 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Jamel White, a junior from Brooklyn, N.Y., led the Stars with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.
DaVell Jackson, a junior from Las Vegas, and Richard Jackson, a senior from Bronx, N.Y., both followed with 14 points.
The Stars led 40-39 going into halftime, shooting 51.6 percent from the field in the first half and 57.1 percent from behind the arc. Vinicius Telo, a sophomore from Ribeirao Preto, Brazil, went 4-for-4 from the field, sinking one 3-pointer in the first half. Telo chipped in 13 points in the game and grabbed four rebounds for the Stars.
Ricardo Lovelace, a junior from Philadelphia, added 10 points to the effort along with a team-high nine rebounds.
The Stars shot 47.5 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from behind the arc.
OCU defense posted 29 rebounds and forced 10 Oklahoma Baptist turnovers.
The Stars will face Mid-America Christian on Monday at 8 p.m. at Abe Lemons Arena.
