THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University aims for a home-and-home sweep of Sooner Athletic Conference foe St. Gregory's.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children. OCU students and faculty are admitted free into all Stars events with their ID.
ABOUT THE STARS: OCU, the two-time defending NAIA Division I men's basketball champion, fell to Wayland Baptist (Texas) 82-65 on Saturday in Plainview, Texas. Jamel White led the Stars with 23 points, scoring the first 14 points for the Stars.
White, a 6-4 junior from Brooklyn, N.Y., scores a team-high 14.2 points to go with 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Ricardo Lovelace, a 6-4 junior from Philadephia, contributed 15 points to the effort. Richard Jackson, a 6-foot senior from Bronx, N.Y., added 12 points to round out the Stars' double-digit scorers. Jackson averages 13.2 points per game.
DaVell Jackson, a 6-1 junior from Las Vegas, adds 9.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.78 steals a game.
OCU leads the series against St. Gregory's 26-0. The Stars defeated St. Gregory's 63-52 on Jan. 24 in Shawnee, Okla.
ABOUT THE CAVALIERS: St. Gregoy's fell to 2-20, 1-15 in the SAC after losing to Oklahoma Baptist 89-54 on Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla. Alex Moorehead, a 5-10 junior, posted a team-high 13 points as well as grabbing five rebounds.
Derek Washington, a 5-10 junior, added 11 points to the effort, while Jade Carter, a 6-4 junior grabbed a team-high nine rebounds as well as contributing six points.
Kyle Lulko, a 6-foot junior, tops St. Gregory's with 11.3 points a game.
ABOUT THE COACHES: Kevin Morrissey embarks on his first season as OCU head coach. Morrissey spent the past four seasons as St. Gregory's coach. He also has been as assistant at Missouri State and Texas-Pan American. Morrissey played his college ball at Oklahoma Baptist and Oral Roberts and high school at Bishop McGuinness in Oklahoma City.
John Martin is in his first season as coach for St. Gregory's, succeeding Morrissey. Martin spent the past three seasons at Moore High School. He also coached at John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City.
