Leonard leads OCU by Oklahoma Baptist

Lauren Kolker took one shot Tuesday against Oklahoma Baptist.

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Three goals from Sarah Leonard sparked Oklahoma City University past Oklahoma Baptist at the OBU Soccer Complex on Tuesday afternoon in women's soccer.
Leonard, a senior from West Yorkshire, England, leads OCU (9-4-1, 6-1-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) with 18 goals on the season after her third hat trick of the season.
The Stars pushed out early to a 2-0 lead in the first half with a pair of goals from Leonard.
Leonard scored at the four-minute mark on an assist from Josefine Holmgren to make the score 1-0. Holmgren ranks second on the team with three assists.
Leonard followed her own shot for a goal in the 13th minute to give the Stars a 2-0 lead. Leonard took 11 shots in the game, including six that were on goal.
Oklahoma Baptist responded with a pair of goals from Courtney Anderson to tie the score at two each.
Anderson scored her first goal in the 43rd minute to make cut the deficit to 2-1 at halftime. Anderson tied the score in the 50th minute when she found the net for the second time of the game.
Leonard answered when she beat her defender to the ball for a wide-open goal in the 61st minute for the winning score.
OCU had a 22-10 advantage in shots for the game. The Stars also had a 9-3 lead in shots on goal.
OCU will host USAO at 5 p.m. on Friday for senior day at Stars Field.
