BETHANY, Okla. – Oklahoma City University's men's basketball team was defeated by Southern Nazarene 73-51 on Saturday at the Sawyer Center.
Ricardo Lovelace, a junior from Philadelphia, paced the Stars with 10 points and eight boards. Richard Jackson, a senior from Bronx, N.Y., added 10 points to the effort as well. The Stars moved to 13-8, 6-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
SNU held the Stars to 32 percent shooting from the field and 0 for 10 from behind the 3-point line in the first half. OCU improved to shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from the arc in the second half, putting the Stars at 37 percent from the field on the game.
The Stars suffered from 14 turnovers in the game. Southern Nazarene outrebounded OCU 37-29.
DaVell Jackson, a junior from Las Vegas, posted nine points, while Jamel White, a junior from Brooklyn, N.Y., contributed seven points and six rebounds.
The Stars will face Lubbock Christian on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas.
