THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University?s women travel to Butte, Mont., to face Carroll (Mont.) and Montana Western in the Peg Sarsfield Classic. OCU plays Carroll at 5 p.m. Oklahoma time Friday and Montana-Western at 4 p.m. Sunday. Each are top-25 teams in the NAIA.

ABOUT THE STARS: OCU is 5-0 after a 78-49 road victory over Huston-Tillotson (Texas) on Monday. Mariam Sy recorded 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals for OCU to lead five double-figure scorers. Sy, a senior from Mali, West Africa, is averaging 23.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.60 steals. Sy leads NAIA Division I in scoring and ranks among the national leaders in steals per game. Paty Silva added 16 points on Monday and averages 12.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.40 steals. The Stars are ranked seventh in the preseason NAIA rankings.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: Carroll is 9-0 and ranked 10th in NAIA Division I. Carroll set a school single-season record with 18 3-pointers in last weekend?s 92-61 win over California Baptist. Jolene Fuzesy, a 5-foot-10 guard, scored all of her 15 points off 3-pointers. Carroll has won the last two Frontier Conference championships and made the NAIA Tournament second round for the first time in school history last season.
Montana-Western is 7-1 and ranked 18th. The Lady Bulldogs beat Dickinson State (N.D.) 71-47 and California Baptist 84-63 in the Montana West Bank Classic in Helena, Mont., last weekend. Becky O?Neil, a 6-foot-1 transfer from Weber State, averages 15.9 points and 8.4 rebounds a game.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson has 315 victories in 16 seasons as a head coach. Edmisson came to OCU after a stint as an assistant at Oklahoma State and still resides in Stillwater, Okla.
Carroll coach Shawn Nelson is in his third season at Carroll. Nelson is the two-time Frontier Conference coach of the year. Montana-Western coach Kevin Engellant has a 169-85 record in 10 seasons and five consecutive trips to the NAIA Tournament.
