OCU sits tied for second in Texas Intercollegiate

Michael Palmer paced the Stars with a round-one 70

Michael Palmer tied for eighth with a round-one 70 in the Texas Intercollegiate Sunday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Third-ranked Oklahoma City University tied for second place after one round of the Texas Intercollegiate at the Hawks Creek Golf Club.
The Stars, ranked third in the NAIA, carded 286 on the par-72, 6,847-yard course and are seven shots behind tournament leader Southern Nazarene.
Junior Michael Palmer, of Johannesburg, South Africa, fired a round-one 70 and tied for eighth overall. Palmer carded five birdies and is four shots off the lead held by Southern Nazarene's Sam Russell.
Senior Taylor Artman shot 71 and tied for 15th, and fellow senior Clark Collier carded a 72 and tied for 22nd. Sophomore James Marchesani finished with 73 and junior Sondre Ronold shot 78.
Cameron Meyers finished with a 71 and tied for 15th overall while playing unattached.
The Stars will compete in the second and final round of the Texas Intercollegiate starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
