BETHANY, Okla. – Vanessa Richartz of Oklahoma City University ran the fastest time among the women's runners in the Southern Nazarene Preseason Challenge on Saturday at Eldon Lyon Park.
Richartz, a freshman from Norman, Okla., recorded a time of 12 minutes, 6.19 seconds on the 3,000-meter course in the cross-country dual meet between OCU and Southern Nazarene.
Elyse Davis, a freshman from Midwest City, Okla., finished the race in 12:47.12. Jacquelyn Sandal, another freshman, completed the run in 14:50.37.
Among the men, Nick Bonfiglio paced OCU in his college debut. Bonfiglio, a freshman from Oklahoma City, covered the 5,000-meter distance in 16:08.70, good for fourth place overall.
Tim Hartmuller, a senior from Owasso, Okla., finished the race in 16:44.53 for the Stars. Justin Dametz put together a time of 17:50.10.
Nick Evans ran the course in 18:17.57, while Monroe Tahmahkera covered the 5K in 18:21.83.
OCU will compete next in the Central Oklahoma Land Run at 8 a.m. Sept. 5 at Mitch Park in Edmond, Okla.
