OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has hired Chris Ward as an assistant coach for its cross country and track and field program.
Ward most recently served as the head cross country and track and field coach at Fort Scott (Kan.).
“Chris Ward will have a positive impact on all aspects of our program,” OCU coach Micheal Houston said.
Ward's other coaching experience consisted of serving as assistant cross country coach at Xavier (La.) and graduate assistant at Charleston Southern.
As an athlete, Ward captured all-American and all-conference honors in the 100 meters, 200, long jump, 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams and ran on the conference championship 4x100 relay while at Charleston Southern. Ward also competed at Independence (Kan.).
Ward graduated high school in Fort Scott, Kan., and is an Oklahoma City native.
