SHAWNEE, Okla. – Vanessa Richartz spearheaded Oklahoma City University in the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational on Saturday at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center.

Richartz, a freshman from Norman, Okla., finished the 5,000-meter event in 21 minutes, 15 seconds to take 28th overall.

Sooner Davenport completed the race in 22:43 for OCU, while Elyse Davis covered the course in 23:40. Jacquelyn Sandal turned in a 27:19, and Arin Warren ran the race in 28:00. The Stars took seventh out of the eight teams.

Among the men, Monroe Tahmahkera crossed the finish line in 30:51 to lead OCU.

Justin Dametz contributed a 31:22, and Nick Evans finished in 32:49.

The Stars compete next in the NAIA Mid-States Classic on Oct. 24 in Winfield, Kan.
