Josh Gorzney

Josh Gorzney joined the Oklahoma City staff as head women's golf coach prior to the 2022-23 season.

The Stars have not failed to win the Sooner Athletic Conference championship since Gorzney took over the program. His team has racked up 14 All-America honors, two NAIA Players of the Year, a national individaual champion, and four individual champions or co-champions at the conference level. His teams have placed third in 2023, second in 2024 and 11th in 2025.

Gorzney previously served as assistant women's golf coach at Arkansas State. He also coached golf on the high-school level in Oklahoma, and he has experience as a professional at multiple prestigious golf courses.

Gorzney had been assistant to Arkansas State's M.J. Desbiens Shaw, the former OCU coach who led the Stars to two national championships. Gorzney previously had a two-year stint as head boys golf coach at Norman (Okla.) North High School. Gorzney guided Norman North to the state tournament and a second-place regional finish. He also coached the individual regional champion. Prior to that, Gorzney was assistant boys golf coach at Edmond North High School for the 2018-19 season. He coached the Class 6A Oklahoma golf individual champion, Jordan Wilson.

He spent two seasons as assistant men's golf coach at Aurora University (Ill.), helping the squad to the 2018 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference title and coached three all-conference players that season. He served as volunteer assistant coach at South Mountain Community College (Ariz.) for the 2015-16 campaign and helped that squad to the 2016 NJCAA Division II National Championship.

Gorzney brings seven years of experience as a golf course professional, most recently as assistant golf professional from 2013-15 at The Territory Golf & Country Club in Duncan, Okla. He spent one year as assistant golf professional at Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest, Ill., and three years as pro shop manager and junior camp instructor at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course in Bristol, Ill.

A 2013 graduate of the University of St. Francis (Ill.), Gorzney was a two-time NAIA National Championship qualifier in 2011 and 2013. He was a two-time all-conference pick and two-time conference player of the week.
