James Hall enters his first season as assistant coach for Oklahoma City University's men's and women's cross country and track & field teams.
Hall recently spent five years in the same role with Langston University.
Hall spent three years coaching at the high school level where he coached at Northwest Classen and John Marshall High Schools. At John Marshall High School, Hall helped guide the Bears to a wealth of improvements, including a state championship in 2011 and state runner up in 2012.
Before graduating from Langston in 2009 with a HYPER degree, Hall was the student assistant cross country and track coach. He also held this role in 2007 while he attended Oklahoma Baptist University for two years. In 2008, he completed an internship with the Norman Striders summer track club.
Originally from Texas, Hall participated in the Junior Olympics summer league and also ran for Dunbar High School. An eight-time all-American, Hall set five school records, won four NAIA championships and was a 13-time NAIA national track & field qualifier. Hall is very passionate about his work with each and every athlete. It’s not just about the results on the track, but also the student-athlete’s education. He wants to see his athletes succeed in life and not just in athletics. He goes above and beyond to extend his appreciation of the sport to his athletes for their hard work and dedication.
Hall is married to Brittany Hall, who is also an All American track and field athlete. They have three children, Michael, Destini and Brayden.
