Camille Herron is entering her fifth year serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the Oklahoma City University's women's and men's cross country/track and field programs. Born and raised in Oklahoma and currently one of the best marathoners and ultrarunners in the world, she has been coached since 2004 by OCU cross country/track coach Conor Holt, who is also her husband.

Professionally sponsored by Marathonguide.com, Skechers, and Powerbar, Camille is the 2015 IAU 100k world champion and holds the 4th fastest time ever run for the distance (7 hours, 8 minutes, 35 seconds).  She is also a three-time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier with a personal-best marathon time of 2:37:14. She’s a 20-time marathon winner, three-time winner of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, and is aiming to become the first woman to win a marathon in all 50 States. She has qualified for three U.S. teams, including the 2011 US Pan American Team in the marathon and the 2015 US 50k and 100K Team. Camille also holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon by a woman in a superhero costume (2:48:51 dressed as Spider Woman).

A three-time cross country all-stater and three-time track state champion (4x800 meters, 1600, 3200), she competed for Duncan (Okla.) and Oklahoma City Westmoore High Schools (2000 graduate). She continues to hold the school record at Westmoore in cross country for two miles (11:13) and also the 4A state meet record for the 4x800m relay while competing for Duncan.

She accepted athletic and academic scholarships to the University of Tulsa, where she graduated cum laude with a B.S. in exercise and sport science and a minor in biology. She was recognized as a top 10 senior at TU, outstanding EXSS senior, and was a member of several organizations including the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society and The Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge. She accepted teaching and research fellowships to Oregon State University, where she graduated in 2007 with an M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science (research emphasis on enhancing bone recovery). She currently works as a full-time Research Assistant in Dr. Mary Beth Humphrey’s osteoimmunology lab at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
