Megan Patel

Megan Patel serves as Oklahoma City University’s women’s basketball assistant coach aiding head coach Bo Overton in all aspects of the program.

Patel enters her fourth season with the Stars. In three years, Patel has contributed to OCU’s 82-17 record, 2017 NAIA Division I championship, two Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season championships and two SAC Tournament titles.

Patel has coached four all-Americans, the WBCA NAIA player of the year, the NAIA Division I player of the year, three conference player of the year honorees, two SAC newcomers of the year, a league defensive player of the year and one conference freshman of the year with OCU.

Patel’s collegiate coaching experience includes serving two years as a graduate assistant for West Texas A&M. On the high school level, Patel previously served as assistant coach in Owasso, Okla., and at Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas.

In her playing career, Patel became an all-Lone Star Conference performer. She helped West Texas A&M win three conference championships, a South Central regional championship and an NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance.

Patel earned a bachelor degree in sports and exercise science and a master’s degree in sport management. She is married (Vinay).
