John Wilcox joins Oklahoma City University’s wrestling coach staff for his second stint molding the Stars into champions on and off the mat.
Wilcox served Archie Randall as a student assistant following a prolific wrestling career as a two-time NAIA all-American for OCU.
As a senior, Wilcox finished seventh place at 174 pounds in the NAIA Championships for the second time. He went 45-13 with 17 falls and won the NAIA Central Regional and Lindenwood Open. Wilcox finished his two-year OCU career with a 68-29 record with 29 falls.  He was a four-time national-tournament qualifier. Wilcox earned his business administration degree from OCU.
Wilcox competed on the high-school level at Putnam City West in Oklahoma City. Wilcox took third place in the Class 5A state tournament at 160 pounds with a 36-5 record as a senior. He also captured the regional championship and took Oklahoman all-city honors. In his prep career, Wilcox went 89-29 and made two trips to the state tournament and all-Metro Conference three times.
