Andy Crabtree serves as Oklahoma City University head men's golf coach.
In the 2019 NAIA Championships, Oklahoma City finished third place with Crabtree’s direction.
Crabtree previously coached at UNLV, Old Dominion, Texas A&M and the University of Tulsa. Crabtree has head-coaching experience at Old Dominion from 2013-16.
Crabtree helped bring UNLV two Mountain West Conference titles. He contributed to UNLV’s 2017 recruiting class earning a No. 12 ranking by Golfstat as well as Polly Mack becoming the conference player of the year and freshman of the year.
During his time at Old Dominion, he helped the program gain national recognition, especially in recruiting. Crabtree’s 2014 freshman class was ranked 19th nationally in Golfstat’s Freshman Class Impact ranking and his 2015 class was ranked 24th. He signed four No. 1-ranked players from four countries (Argentina, Czech Republic, Belgium, UAE) to the team.
Crabtree led Old Dominion to new heights on the golf course, as his team finished runner-up at the Conference USA Tournament for its highest finish in the championship event since joining the conference in 2013. He also prioritized success in the classroom and the team was declared as the 2015 and 2016 ODU Scholar Team of the Year. In 2014 the squad was recognized by the NCAA for being one of only four ODU teams earning perfect graduation rate success.
With Crabtree at the forefront of the program, six members of his team were named Women’s Golf Collegiate Scholars All-Americans, and nine players have received C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognition. In 2014, the NCAA recognized ODU Women’s Golf for a perfect APR Score of 1000.
Before taking the helm at Old Dominion, Crabtree served as an assistant coach for Texas A&M’s women’s golf program for two seasons. At Texas A&M, he signed two top-five nationally ranked recruits in the class of 2014.
While Crabtree was at Texas A&M, the Aggies reached No. 10 in the national rankings, which was the highest in program history. Texas A&M won a Big 12 Championship and posted two top-10 NCAA finishes. In his first year, Crabtree helped the Aggies to individual titles at the 2012 Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Regional. The Aggies finished second at regionals to match their best finish in program history and placed 16th at the NCAA Championship to mark their fourth top 20 finish in five seasons.
In 2007, Crabtree was named the first full-time assistant men’s golf coach in history at Tulsa, a position he held until 2011. During his tenure at Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane advanced to NCAA regional play three times and had eight players earn All-Conference USA honors. Golfweek ranked Tulsa’s 2010 recruiting class one of the best in the nation among mid-major schools.
A talented player in his own right, Crabtree was a four-year letter winner at South Florida and was named the Conference USA student-athlete of the year for golf as a senior. Crabtree earned his bachelor's degree in communication and was an Academic All-American in 1999. After graduation, Crabtree qualified for the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach and the 2000 British Amateur at Royal Liverpool.
Crabtree, a Bixby, Okla., native, became the 1994 Oklahoma state junior golf champion.
