Alicia Bailey has added to Oklahoma City University’s storied history as head competitive cheerleading coach and spirit coordinator.

Bailey led the Stars to the historic 2017 NAIA competitive cheerleading championship, which was the first title offered by the NAIA after the organization became the first athletic entity to fully sponsor cheerleading as an intercollegiate sport. Bailey guided OCU to the 2016 National Cheerleaders Association NAIA small coed title.

OCU has finished as national runner-up twice in NAIA competitive cheerleading and won NAIA qualifying group titles twice in three years under Bailey.

The Stars have experienced individual success as well. Bailey has coached 22 NAIA cheerleading all-Americans, two STUNT all-Americans and four NAIA scholar-athlete award winners. Devaunjue Williams represented the Sooner Athletic Conference as the league’s 2017-18 nominee for the Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award.
Bailey served as an assistant coach in 2014-15 for all three OCU spirit squads. With her leadership, the Stars had an incredible year. The cheer team brought home titles as the NAIA West Regional champions, NAIA national champions, NCA small coed national champions, and finished fourth in the STUNT National Tournament. In addition to this, there were 14 all-Americans on this team.
Bailey enters the coaching realm after a successful career as a student-athlete at OCU. Alicia was a part of OCU's inaugural competitive cheerleading team in 2008-09.  During her time as an athlete, Bailey became a four-time all-American and four-time academic all-American while helping the Stars win three NCA national championships. She was a two-time Jim Wade Award winner as the team's student-athlete of the year. Alicia was also a two-sport athlete and played softball for the Stars both her freshman and sophomore years.
Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree from OCU in 2012, graduating cum laude with her biomedical sciences degree. At OCU, She was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, President's honor roll and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Upon graduation, Alicia continued her education at OCU and completed her master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management in 2014.
Bailey is married (Morgan).
